February 6, 2013 marked the official kick-off to the new NASL team that is calling Loudoun County home. With a crowd packed into The Bungalow Lakehouse in Sterling to watch the U.S.A v. Honduras game, the atmosphere resembled a World Cup Final. But, the crowd was there for a more important reason. They wanted to know what the new NASL team coming to town would be named. After much anticipation, NASL Virginia announced their team as Cavalry FC after the tough USA 2-1 loss from Honduras. After the announcement, people celebrated and were quick to pick up their new Cavalry FC shirts. Everyone in the Northern Virginia area is excited to see a new pro team come to town since D.C. United has been king for a long time.
